Return to index of stories... 		Hello. I'm Richard Ager. Welcome to this special edition of NH Outlook. As a viewer, you probably know Jim Lehrer as the long-time anchor on the PBS NewsHour. But he is also a prolific writer and author of many novels. In June, as part of our 50th anniversary celebration at NH Public Television, Jim Lehrer came to visit.
V/O He spoke to supporters of the station about his life as a reporter, the future of broadcast journalism, and the role of public television. Lehrer emphasized that the principles of good journalism remain constant, even in the emerging age of social media.
SOT: Lehrer Remarks Disk 19:50 *** It's going to be announced in a few days. The Newshour is going to be the first nightly news program distributed every night on You Tube. Which is a big deal. But I have no idea why.
SOT: Lehrer Remarks Disk 18:20 I don't care if someone watches the Newshour on a pink iPod with their name engraved on it. I couldn't care less. They want to Twit it and Tweet it and Wawa it - all I care about is the content. Those of us in public broadcasting must remain in the content business.
